Original boot lids, trunk lids and tailgates

Rear closure panels differ significantly between saloons, estates, hatchbacks and SUVs. Our used OEM trunk lids, boot lids and tailgates preserve the factory glass opening, hinge positions and exterior contours.

Verify body style, model generation and installed equipment. Cameras, spoilers, inner lamps, power-lift drives, locks and wiring may be part of the assembly or removed before sale.

Rear closure fitment checklist

Use the correct body-style term

A saloon normally uses a trunk or boot lid, while hatchbacks, estates and SUVs use a tailgate. These assemblies are not interchangeable.

Confirm holes and electrical equipment

Check camera, handle, emblem, spoiler, wiper, inner-lamp and number-plate-light provisions, plus any powered opening system.

Inspect hinges, edges and glass

Review corners, latch area, folded seams, window aperture and upper hinge mounts for deformation, corrosion or previous repair.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a trunk lid and a tailgate?

A trunk lid closes a separate luggage compartment; a tailgate usually includes the rear window and opens into the passenger compartment.

Is the rear glass included?

Only when visible and specified. Tailgates can be sold with or without glass, wiring, trim and wiper components.

Can a manual tailgate replace a powered one?

Not without checking hinges, drives, wiring, locks and control systems. Match the original operating equipment.

Are inner tail lights part of the lid?

They may be attached in the photos, but they are separate parts and should not be assumed to be included.

A complete match across the rear opening

OEM rear panels retain the correct window, latch and seal geometry. Body style and powered equipment are the most important identifiers after the part number.
